Terms of Service
Effective Jul 11, 2026
Houseload is operated by m13n LLC ("Houseload", "we", "us", or "our"), a Minnesota limited liability company. These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your use of Houseload (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. Questions? Email support@houseload.app.
Who can use Houseload
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. You agree to provide accurate account information and to keep your sign-in credentials secure — you are responsible for activity that happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
The Service
Houseload is a home-inventory service: you record items you own, optionally upload related files (receipts, invoices, photos), and organize everything into shared "homes." When you invite someone to a home, the members of that home can see — and, depending on the role you grant them, edit — the content in it. Choose invitees and roles carefully — sharing with a home's members is how the Service is designed to work.
When you upload a receipt or invoice for scanning — or email one to your home's private address — the Service may use AI to suggest draft items for your review. Suggestions can be wrong — you decide what is saved, and you are responsible for reviewing them.
Your content
You own the content you add to Houseload. You grant us the limited rights needed to operate the Service — to store, process (including the AI scanning described above), back up, and display your content to you and the members of your homes. We claim no other rights to it, and we do not use your content to train AI models. You are responsible for the content you add and must have the right to upload it.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for anything unlawful, or upload content you have no right to;
- probe, disrupt, or overload the Service, or try to access accounts, homes, or data that aren't yours;
- resell the Service, scrape it, or use it to build a competing service using our code or content;
- circumvent plan limits, billing, or security measures.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, with notice where practical.
Plans, billing, and cancellation
Houseload offers a free plan and paid Plus and Pro subscriptions (monthly or yearly). Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record; your subscription renews automatically until you cancel. Refunds are handled by Lemon Squeezy under its refund policy and applicable law — if something went wrong with a purchase, email support@houseload.app and we'll help. You can cancel at any time from your account's billing portal — you keep your paid plan until the end of the period you've paid for, then move to the free plan. If your usage exceeds the free plan's limits when a subscription ends, existing content stays readable but you may not be able to add more until you're back within the limits. We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice; changes apply from your next renewal.
Service changes and availability
We work to keep the Service available and improving, but we don't promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may add, change, or remove features; if we discontinue the Service or remove something material, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to get your data out.
Termination
You can stop using the Service and ask us to delete your account at any time (see the Privacy Policy for how deletion works). We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially violate these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive — such as ownership, disclaimers, and limitations of liability — survive termination.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. In particular, item values in Houseload are your own records or estimates — they are not appraisals, and Houseload is not insurance, financial, or legal advice. Confirm coverage and documentation requirements with your insurer.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, m13n LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, or data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of $50 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Indemnification
If a third party brings a claim against m13n LLC arising from content you added to the Service or from your violation of these Terms, you agree to indemnify us — that is, to cover the resulting damages, costs, and reasonable attorneys' fees. We will notify you of any such claim and, where the law allows, let you control the defense.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes we will update the "Effective" date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Minnesota, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
General
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and m13n LLC about the Service, replacing any earlier agreements on the subject. If a court finds part of these Terms unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. You may not assign or transfer these Terms; we may assign them as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (see the Privacy Policy for how your information is handled in that case). If we don't enforce a provision, that is not a waiver — we may enforce it later.
